Welcome to the Merritt documentation wiki.

This wiki is the place for public documentation about Merritt.

Merritt is the digital preservation repository for the University of California, available to libraries, academic departments, laboratories and other organizational units within UC. It is designed using the principles of microservices, with the expertise of the California Digital Library. Access to content can be restricted to individuals with Merritt accounts (as a "dark archive") or open to the public. Merritt provides multiple methods for deposit and retrieval, via the UI and API. It supports multiple metadata formats, and provides preservation functions and reporting during submission, and while content resides in the repository. Merritt's preservation features include unique identifiers (in partnership with EZID), replication across multiple data centers and continuous audits.
