About the role:

As the Senior Growth Product Manager at Instrumentl, you will lead key growth initiatives with a focus on optimizing product features, user journeys, and leveraging product insights to unlock growth. Our ideal candidate is proactive, eager to learn, willing to experiment, and excited to collaborate with multiple teams to expand Instrumentl's reach.

You'll be joining our small, highly autonomous team, reporting directly to Will, our Head of Growth. Get to know us at instrumentl.com/about!

Instrumentl is fully distributed (though if you’d like to work from our Oakland office, we would love to see you there).  For this position, we are looking for someone based in the continental US, but open to those flexible to Eastern or Central Time standard working hours as well.

What you'll get to do:

    • Size growth opportunities and conduct R&D on new product initiatives that drive Instrumentl's reach and impact.
    • Build business cases for new product experiments and features, prioritizing those with the highest potential ROI and user impact.
    • Run experiments to validate initiatives from 0 to 1, including optimizing user activation, retention, and expansion through feature improvements.
    • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, engineering, design, and other growth teams to ensure successful scaling of product features from 1 to 10.
    • Identify and validate growth hypotheses based on product analytics, using data to guide decision-making and ensure high-impact outcomes.
    • Create clear and scalable SOPs for validated growth opportunities to be managed by full-time teams.
    • Lead efforts to optimize user onboarding, activation flows, and in-product experiences to drive conversions and retention.

    • 5+ years of growth or product experience: You've ideally worked in SaaS, with a proven ability to build and scale growth initiatives through product-led strategies.

    • Strong analytical skills: Proficient in tools like Amplitude, Mixpanel, Google Analytics, and Excel, you interpret data and make informed, growth-driven decisions.
    • Resourceful and autonomous: You thrive in fast-paced, high-autonomy environments, taking initiative and figuring things out independently.
    • Clear and effective communication: You can simplify complex product strategies, aligning cross-functional teams around key initiatives.

Compensation and Benefits:

    • Salary ranges are based on market data, relative to our size, industry, and stage of growth. Salary is one part of total compensation, which also includes equity, perks, and competitive benefits. 
    • For US-based candidates, our target salary band is $130,000 - $190,000/year + equity. Salary decisions will be based on multiple factors including geographic location, qualifications for the role, skillset, proficiency, and experience level.

    What you'll do at BioRender: 

    • Help us continue to deliver features and products that users love

    • Drive development, communication, and execution of a vision for a meaningful areaof the product

    • Own the product roadmap, measurement of success, and operations for your product area

    • Leverage data from millions of users to proactively assess feature opportunities and solution prioritization 

    • Engage in direct touch points with our users to build the right products and features 

    • Contribute to the team and processes that enable BioRender to be an exceptional product management organization 

    Your background and experiences: 

    • 5+ years of product management experience, ideally at a fast growing SaaS startup

    • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence teams towards an outcome oriented goal

    • Experience tying together user insights with data to make the most effective product decisions

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

    • Passion for our mission, vision, and product

    • A background or experience in life sciences is a plus, but not required, however a curiosity and desire to learn about science and scientists is required!

    Senior Product Manager, Graphing

    The Graphing team’s mission is to expand what scientists are able to communicate in BioRender through the easiest-to-use and most delightful graphing and statistical analysis solution. Graphing is a new product currently in open beta, and we’re looking for a Product Manager to lead the strategic direction for the product that helps scientists analyze, visualize and present data to achieve product market fit. This is an exciting opportunity for a product builder who loves the strategic questions that come from scaling a product from 0-1, to 1-N!

    What you'll do at BioRender:

    • Within the first 90 days, become an expert on our users, their usage behaviors and workflows, and the market landscape. Understanding the user, the market, and our product offering will be critical to your success.

    • Own the strategy for the Graphing product and how it integrates with the rest of the BioRender product suite:

      • Talk to users and obsess over user feedback and usage data of beta users to build the right feature set that will create raving fans.

      • Collaborate with Design and Data Science to determine what will make BioRender Graphing a critical part of industry scientists’ software stack.

      • Partner with marketing on the go to market strategy for the product, determining how best to spread awareness for the product to grow usage

    • Drive new feature development to grow user engagement KPIs 

    • Launch experiments to reduce barriers to entry into the product and increase our funnel conversion rate for new and returning users

    • Tackle difficult to answer strategic questions such as:  

      • How can we leverage AI to reduce the time it takes scientists to format their data before running experiments? 

      • How do we create a consistent user experience across our Graphing product and our core editor as we scale?

      • How do we communicate statistical concepts to users with varying degrees of familiarity with statistics? 

      • How should we prioritize the right features to build from the thousands of pieces of feedback we’ve gotten from our users in open beta?

    • Contribute to the product strategy of BioRender. As we move from a single product company to a multiple product company, the Graphing PM will be integral to formulating our overall product expansion strategy. 

    Our Ideal Fit:

    • 4+ years of product management experience

    • Proven track record of launching 0-1 products and achieving product-market fit in a market with incumbent players You’ve owned the end-to-end user experience for an entire product.

    • You have experience developing, launching and iterating a highly ambiguous and broad product surface area that may take multiple months to get adoption.

    • You have clear examples of transforming ambiguous user problems into clear roadmaps, and can draw on stories where you had to make a call between two divergent paths.

    • You bring experience using user quantitative (e.g., metrics, analytics) and qualitative insights (e.g., research, user feedback) to inform product prioritization and decision-making.

    • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex ideas to technical and non-technical audiences

    • You are detail oriented and user obsessed.

    Nice to haves:

    • Background in statistics or data science is a plus. At least, statistics or math is exciting to you. You will not need to be an expert in statistics and will partner with a data scientist, but statistics is a core part of the product and user research, so you will need to be comfortable with learning about users’ scientific statistical workflows and simplifying their experience.

    • Educational background in life sciences

    Backflip is seeking a curious, self-directed, and analytical Senior Product Manager. You will lead our FinTech lending experiences, focusing on understanding the needs of customers, operations, and capital partners. Your role involves delivering impactful lending solutions through the Backflip app, driving growth for both our business and our customers' businesses. You must quickly adapt, work independently, and balance priorities effectively. Your goal is to identify and address customer challenges, creating lending experiences that align with Backflip’s mission to make real estate investment accessible to everyone, while fostering significant business growth.

    Your responsibilities encompass defining and guiding the product's roadmap, while also iteratively delivering on that roadmap to achieve our business aims. Working hand-in-hand with teams across design, engineering, data, and marketing, you will lead efforts to ensure we meet our collective objectives, driving our platform's growth.     Cash compensation includes base + bonus and is based on a variety of factors including prior experience, geographic location, stock option grant and other factors, and may fall outside of the stated range for certain candidates. In addition to competitive cash compensation, Backflip employees receive equity stock options, paid health care, a 401K + company match, among other benefits.

    Responsibilities

  • Immerse yourself in understanding customer pain points and opportunities to help their business thrive, recognizing the critical need to resolve these issues and take advantage of the opportunities.
  • Create a product roadmap that addresses the customer pain points and use both quantitative and qualitative data to guide the strategy
  • Break big goals into small, solvable pieces, and reliably prioritize to iteratively deliver high-value, while balancing immediate needs with long-term objectives.
  • Use data to test hypotheses, challenging preconceptions to enhance product quality.
  • Critically assess ideas and proposals, enhancing them with your insights.
  • Coordinate with Design and Engineering leaders to ensure clarity and alignment on priorities and expectations throughout the development process.
  • Strengthen ties across cross functional teams to guarantee a unified, customer-first approach in all endeavors.
  • Keep a pulse on market trends and competitor movements, understanding their implications for our customers and adapting our strategies to continually serve them better.

  • Understand this role is intended to evolve as the company grows, and this person should be willing to work on various tasks that fall outside of the above listed responsibilities.

    Qualifications

  • Bring at least 5 years of product management expertise from dynamic settings, ideally with experience in B2B-SMB and/or B2C sectors like fintech, e-commerce, social media, or gaming.
  • Possess a solid grasp of B2B-SMB product-led growth strategies, enabling effective collaboration with Marketing, Sales, and Support teams.
  • Exercise discernment in decision-making, knowing when to decline requests to maintain focus and when to take advantage of opportunities for quick wins that enhance team spirit.
  • Embrace a systems thinking approach to problem-solving, valuing both incremental progress and the quality of what we deliver to customers.
  • Exhibit a deep curiosity and commitment to enhancing the success and livelihoods of real estate entrepreneurs, translating their needs into actionable business objectives.
  • Flexibly move between strategic discussions on OKRs and annual planning to hands-on product requirements, maintaining effectiveness across various levels of detail.
  • While familiarity with Agile methodologies, continuous delivery, and tools like Jira are valued, we prioritize candidates who focus on driving our business forward by ensuring our customers are supported in reaching their goals through our products and services.
