Can't add "Measure number" text from Text palette by clicking it, only by dragging it

Description with steps to reproduce

1. open a score (new or existing)
2. select a measure, a rest or a note;
3. open Text palette;
4. click Measure number to add it.
   Expected behaviour: Measure number appears either by dragging it on the score or by clicking it after selecting.
   Actual behaviour: it only appears by dragging it.

Supporting files, videos and screenshots

Other types of text from the same palette appear no problem in both ways.
