Feature Request: Extend file preview feature to files tracked on S3

When using the default neptune servers as storage backend, i can inspect text-based files very easily in the UI:

when uploading the same text-based files to S3 and link them to a model version via the ModelVersion.track_files method, I can see the S3 URI etc in the artifacts meta data, but i can no longer inspect the file content in the browser UI:

I would like to have the same file preview functionality for text-based files that are residing on external storages and have been tracked, as there is for files directly uploaded to the neptune servers.

We have also had this request before, and it is in our backlog. However, we cannot promise any ETA currently.
I will keep this issue open and updated with the progress.

Meanwhile, please feel free to let us know if there is anything else we can help with or if you have any feedback/improvements to share. We are all ears :)

You can also use this to submit new feature requests or indicate how important a feature selected for development is for you.

We will gradually be adding the long-term plan here as well.

This only includes features selected for development, so features in the backlog (like this one) are currently not shown here.
