Can one directly select the Nextcloud SMS account type? Honestly, i clicked like 5 times "Nextcloud" because this is what i wanted - and i was confused every time when it said "There IS already this nextcloud account on your phone" - until i noticed i had to choose "Nextcloud SMS"......

Maybe you can even reuse the new Login-Flow from the files app, we will try to adapt it to the Notes android app as well.

This issue is quite crucial for ease of use and adoption.

Unless you have a good idea of what you are doing, this is a step where it's very easy to get lost, especially when Android offers to create accounts for

  • Nextcloud
  • Nextcloud SMS
  • DAVx⁵
  • DAVx⁵ Address book
  • IMAP

I'm going to add some wording in `strings.xml to help people go through the account creation path the right way, but really this should be solved by having a button on the welcome screen the offers to create the account and automatically picks the right account type.

I think the best way of moving forward is to make use of Nextcloud Single Sign on which is already supported by Notes, News and Deck app.

That would clearly be the ideal solution. Nextcloud will really come into its own when installing one app is enough to sync all the basics to one's Nextcloud server.

There's an issue to support that: #215
