This usually happens when you try to print regions with packed decimals.
This will have to be checked in multiple spots. The JESWorker reads the file and then sticks it in an object as a string. Will javascript blow up, or will it preserve the bad ascii value?
This ought to be solved by the editor if possible-- it should display the bad character properly.

ACE appears to handle this nicely, typically showing a pink dot when the character is invalid ascii. Perhaps a postprocessor should handle converting bad values into some form of notation.
