The health bars are currently only helpful in a relative sense, showing who has more than another snake. That is not as relevant as something like snake size, where being bigger than another snake is incredibly important.
What is important is how many turns you have left to live, so I suggest putting segments on the health bar. Most game types have exactly two health steps, 1) moving onto a regular tile and 2) moving onto a hazard tile. So you could segment the bar for each of those two and be able to give more information at a glance: how many turns can I move in this condition?
