rdfind hangs up ubuntu 22.04

I was running rdfind 1.5.0 on a 3TB USB disk that was quite full. OS is Ubuntu 22.04. CPU 12700H, system memory is 40 GB

After running for a few hours unattended the laptop on rdfind was run was not responding any more.
This seems reproducible as on the 2nd run had the same problem

filesystem on the USB disk is ntfs3
command run was
rdfind -minsize 4096 -makehardlinks true .

As there were some long files on the disk, I restarted rdfind with a maxsize of 25.000.000 added to the command
