Woaw, it looks like I'm creating the first issue, what a feeling, anyway, so here is the problem :
There seems to be a minimum canvas size under which the script simply doesn't work.
How to reproduce : If you resize the canvases in the examples (either global or AMD) to a small size (I found 60 width and 60 height to be the threshold for me) it doesn't glitch any more.
I don't know if it's base64 related or not because I can't find the bug in the image data manipulations.

Thank you for reporting the issue. I'm able to reproduce this in both Chrome and Firefox. However, the threshold seems to be 56px for me. I'm not sure what is causing this problem either, but I'll look into it further.
