I have put this separately, because it needs more involvement from the application authors.

GENERAL
Application descriptions need to be more uniform, like 2-3 sentences per application about what it does. Also make alphabetic ordering based on tool name not on description. The detailed pages of each application should also be more uniform and adhere to a common structure.

  • TOPP documentation link is also to old website
  • (Opinion) “OpenMS is a flexible codebase that can be tailored to many different applications ranging from the standard label free analysis to top down, metabolomics, crosslinking or DIA.” --> Differentiate between proteomics and metabolomics in text like: [...] can be tailored to many different applications like label free analysis, [...] in proteomics or [...] in metabolomics.
  • c# source code --> C needs to be uppercase
  • (Opinion) make images pop-out on click (make them larger)
  • (Opinion) Workflows as separate page besides "Applications" and "Publications"

Protein-nucleic acid cross-linking (OPENNUXL)

  • sachsenb (at) informatik.uni-tuebingen.de mail address unformatted

EPIFANY & INTRODUCTION

  • Should not be two separate sections
  • (Opinion) Description seems to detailed/ not general enough

FLASHDECONV

  • (Opinion) Description too detailed / not really describing tool

I think it should just follow my suggestion in #25 and the maintainers can place the "read more" tag wherever they want on their page.

No one will maintain two places of the same information.

It would also be possible to remove the detailed sections, improve the general overview for each application and maybe only put in the publication(s) for each of them. This would mean less work for the authors and someone really interested in the application could find more info in the publication anyway.

Reviewers usually request a website to be given during publication.

I see.

But I totally agree, that on the overview page (with all published tools) the information should be highly limited.
