2.2.3 Features de-scoped

The following were de-scoped until core functionality was guaranteed, and until a future round of development:

  • Capturing and sending any kind of media formats, since using the camera brought up too many data issues.
  • Sending an e-mail, which hinged on the user having an Internet connection and brought up questions about configuration.
  • Sending multiple messages, too large of a story
  • Fake shutdown, unnecessary due to the disguise
  • Data erasure, decrypted SMS messages are already deleted off the phone
  • Cancel button pin,not enough time
  • UI, focus on features with the understanding that real users would be testing the app in a few weeks for feedback

2.2.4 Feature list which was delivered

  • App on phone
  • Send SMS to specific recipients
  • Attach location and update periodically
  • Return to homescreen to “fakeshutdown”
  • Effective data erasure
  • Encrypted data
