Notes

Taken by Raiph. Apologies for poor organization, too much detail / not enough.

Please edit, fix, reorganize as you see fit.

Coleman:

going thru open issues of raku/doc

dns names o3 and o1; o1 is dev, o3 is prod; portainer discussion; o1 & o3 at same time? every merge to main is built "here" at free account

admins are will and maybe 2 others; if it goes well may ask for foundation money later this year; already a ci allocation

discussed how to build kite; deploy will be a perl script

next action is to get all of these containers pushed to quay.io

right now overwriting latest

Richard:

is that to doc website?

Coleman:

changes to content -> prod

changes to non-content -> dev

need to create a stable server runtime code container

Richard:

is there a way i can manually trigger a push?

Coleman:

will put run in a wiki issue and tag Richard

Coke unavailable

One thing Coleman knows coke has done is triage 50-60 doc issues and create milestones

Richard:

discusses htacess

incoming links

Coleman:

404s etc -- where would errors be reported?

Richard:

suggest make available to community

Coleman:

can do that with "minimal intervention"

Richard:

based on web server log?

Coleman:

issue #85 on web site; discussed related container stuff (sidecar); we could serve a report from that; not #1 priority

google is bad, but we can try help blogs of last 10 years

Richard:

nginx?

Coleman:

i can do that or apache

Richard:

is there a way to make file names elegant?

Coleman:

container setup is simple, can do any of:

1 folk could write a docker file to replace this to make it more familiar for others

2 ngnx build

3 redirects we know we need

add these things to issues

work on them

container build can happen locally, independently of deployment

today's focus is deployment that infra must be involved in

in summary:

raku is land of contrasts

no show stoppers, low risk

we figured out how to deploy

nice cloudfare redirect

Richard:

Corner cases where some content isn't coming thru

doesn't know what these / how many of these / how to find out

Raiph:

Maybe some help: https://web.archive.org/web/sitemap/docs.raku.org

Bruce:

can wget to scrape entire site

my interests aren't about infra

my interests are:

text

eg a long doc on when to use min/max instead of sorting

basic one liners for how to

tutorials

fmteyewtk

also sees

lower bar for participation

Raiph:

I'd like to collab with Bruce on the lower bar

forgiveness > permission for reviewers? (so can act solo for creating simple commits / accepting simple PRs)
