Xelph OS

Table of Contents

Xelph Linux is an Arch Linux based GNU/Linux distribution which tries to be minimal and beautiful.

Note: Source code for all suckless software go in /opt/

Note: picom-jonaburg-git is not installed on the live ISO but it's config files and startup commands are already present in DWM autostart script. It was disabled to keep the OS virtual machine compatible, however you can run sudo pacman -S picom-jonaburg-git and then use the keybind super + shift + r to turn on picom-jonaburg-git.

Note: We use aura-bin as our AUR helper and package manager! yay-bin is available in the repositories, but will not be installed out of the box!

Installation

Once you boot up Xelph and entered dwm desktop, you can start the Calamares installer by launching dmenu by hitting: Superkey + d on your keyboard and type in: installsys

Multiple monitors.

  • To setup multiple monitors, watch this video by Brodie Robertson.
  • Save the generated command to ~/.screenlayout/screen.sh.
  • Use the keybind super + shift + r to restart dwm and apply your changes.

Autostart Script.

  • To add your own programs to the autostart list, run the following command: mkdir -p ~/.dwm;touch ~/.dwm/autostart_personal.sh;nano ~/.dwm/autostart_personal.sh ( needs nano to be installed sudo pacman -Sy nano )
  • Any ISO post v2.5-public will have the above process already done for you, in which case you need to run nano ~/.dwm/autostart_personal.sh
  • After you're done, save and quit.
  • Use the keybind super + shift + r to restart dwm and apply changes.
