In order to use this plugin, you must be connected to GLPI over HTTPS. The browser feature used by this plugin is only available when connecting in a secure context.

To create and attach a screenshot or recording, select the corresponding button in the ticket's timeline. The process for selecting what to capture is unique for each browser. After the screenshot is captured or the recording is done, select the Upload button.

Special Requirements for Recordings

Video Format

For recordings, this plugin uses the WebM format since it is supported by most browsers for capture and playback. This document type is not known to GLPI by default and is therefore not allowed to be uploaded. You must add and allow it in Setup > Dropdowns > Document Types.

  • Mime: video/webm
  • Extension: webm
  • Upload Allowed: Yes

Upload Size

You may also need to increase the maximum upload size in you web server settings and within GLPI itself. For your web server, this process is different for each solution so it is best to look up the specific instructions. For GLPI, the setting is in General > Setup > Management.

Permissions

Since screen recordings can take up significant space, you may wish to restrict their use to specific Profiles. While we cannot restrict uploading videos directly, the plugin does add a new right under the Screenshot tab for each Profile that determines if they can use the Screen Recording action in the timeline. By default, any profile with the Configure right (usually super-admin) has this right. Other profiles will need to have it turned on as needed.
