Amethyst Imbuement Scepter Update!
I've been working on an overhaul/extension of the scepter system for a couple months now, hinted at in this changelog, and today it's finally here!! Along with the major additions described below, there are a wide variety of bug fixes and other odds-and-ends improvements with this update.
Amethyst Imbuement now has not 3 but 30 scepters! Besides the 3 basic scepters, there are 27 new specialty scepters arranged in 6 paths on a crafting tree. Starting with the Opaline Scepter, you can now pick a crafting path to follow in order to create a specialized and powerful augmented scepter. Here's the tree:
Don't worry, if you currently have a higher tier scepter, you can also jump into the tree partway in to not skip out on all the fun! Or, craft up a new Opaline Scepter and take a crafting journey :)
This scepter path is based on casting elemental Fury (damage) spells. Master fire, lightning, or ice to conquer your foes
This path is focused on raw damage and brutal combat. Slash your opponents with spectral blades or wither them away!
This path is all about exploration. Craft a scepter that can teleport you home, and create custom treasure maps that locate structures not usually found on explorer maps.
Master summoning and spell duplication on this path, and then vibrate your enemies out of their skins with the unique spell Resonate.
Redeem yourself on this path, and take up the wand of the healer. Your healing and other Grace spells will be massively boosted on this path.
Become a warrior fighting for the cause of good on this path. Cast powerful protective magic and smite the undead!
Each path has 4 to 6 routes you can take to fully specialize your scepters play-style to your liking!
These unique scepters are powered by Modifiers, a framework for, well, modifying the core scepter behavior. Think of them like enchantments that affect the usage characteristics of the scepter. They can do everything from modify damage to increasing spell duration to increasing xp gain, and much more. Here are the modifiers you can find in this update (check them out in the guide book!):
All these new scepters also come with some brand new materials to find, imbue, and trade for! Chief among them is the mystical Gem of Promise
This powerful gem can be found in chests or crafted from Gem Dust recycled from magical items like enchanted book and other gems. On it's own it doesn't do anything or craft into anything. Hold it in your off hand and submit yourself to various trials, however, and it will transform into an awakened Aspect Gem
- Immolate yourself in fire or lava to awaken a
Blazing Gem - Get struck by lightning to awaken a
Sparking Gem - Heal yourself (a lot) to awaken a
Healers Gem - Take a beating from hostile mobs to awaken a
Brutal Gem - Slay a horde of enemies to awaken a
Lethal Gem - Subject yourself to a wide array of status effects to awaken a
Inquisitive Gem
Once you've awakened a gem, it's ready to craft into various scepters and other items!

As part of adding all the new scepters, 10 brand new spells have been added to Amethyst Imbuement! Sevon of these spells are completely unique to certain scepters, only obtainable by following that particular path route in the crafting tree. Smiting Blow and Ice Spikes from the new spells in action:
- Barrier: (Unique!) Give you or your target absorption (yellow hearts)
- Empowered Slash: A second tier, powered up version of
Spectral Slash - Exhaust: The lower tier version of Mass exhaust. Weakens and slows a target.
- Ice Spikes: (Unique!) Summon a row of icy evoker fangs that damage and freeze entities they hit.
- Inspiring Song: (Unique!) Grant yourself and nearby allies a variety of beneficial status effects. At max level it grants a single-use death resist!
- Recall: (Unique!) Teleports the caster back to their spawn point
- Resonate: (Unique!) Pulse nearby enemies with a sonic blast. Each repeated strike deals increasing damage.
- Smiting Blow: Blast the targeted enemy with holy energy. Deals double damage to undead.
- Survey: (Unique!) Create a random explorer map of a nearby feature. Can map to structures not normally on explorer maps, like Villages.
- Zap: Zaps enemies in a line with a static shock.
